ESTRON are a five piece folk band from Pembrokeshire in West Wales.
From left to right they are: Holly Robinson on octave fiddle, Jess Ward on harp, Danny Tose and John Tose on pibau cyrn (Welsh bagpipes), and Micky Tose on soprano ukulele and clarinet.
Estron is a Welsh word meaning `alien’, `stranger’, or `you’re not from round here are you?’ – though in fact most of us are…
Members of the band are available for events such as concerts, twmpath/ceilidh dances, processions, themed events (e.g. medieval days), strolling minstrels, and more.
All of the musicians perform regularly at venues of all shapes and sizes from chapels, village halls and pubs to street performances, theatres and festivals.
The group’s repertoire includes many traditional Welsh tunes and traditional and original songs/hymns/carols in the Welsh language.
Members of the band are also helping to keep Welsh traditions alive including the Mari Lwyd ceremony carried out at Christmas/New Year. Find out more at the Heb Enw Border Morris – Mari Lwyd web page.
